If you are a veteran, you can come to us for informational needs as to who to contact regarding issues you may have concerns with. If you are charitable organization, you can come and present your need to our membership for help. Our purpose is to help veterans, their family and family members. We also do our best to help children and people of special needs. We do our best to help supply the needs of those that are indeed,,,in need.
People of Special Needs.:
We don't just work for veterans but it is a primary cause, yet, we do not ignore others that are in need of our help. We do many fund raising benefits for children with cancer. We also do benefits for handicapped people. Often, if a family is in need due to a loss of their home caused by fires, a poverity stricken family, we try to help out. We are not limited to what we do, we try to help all in need.

Veteran Homes and Nursing Homes:
We do our best to stock the food pantry at the local Gary Vet Center. We accept canned good donations and monetary donations for groceries in order to provide the food bank. If you are interested in helping in stocking the Gary Vet Center Food pantry, please contact us, or come to one of our meetings. We meet the first Monday of each month at the Hessville VFW Post 7881, located at 6831 Kennedy Ave, Hammond, IN at 7pm.
At times we are asked to spend time with our senior citizens in the Veteran homes as well as other nursing homes. We are very welcome to come out and visit with residents, share stories and even play a good game of bingo.

Memorials and funerals:
When a family suffers the loss of their fallen child, we are there for them. When called upon, we will do our best to provide a full Honor Guard Ceremony for the family and the fallen soldier. We also do our best upon request, to give a motorcade to all fallen veteran soldiers.
